Kazbegi National Park’s expansion project

Agency of Protected Areas and consulting group GFA organized meeting at Hotel Raddison Blu Iveria, where discussed Khazbegi National Park’s expansion issue. At the meeting were participating Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia Gigla Agulashvili, Deputy Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia Ekaterine Grigalava, Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili and Stepantsminda’s majority Zakaria Kutsnashvili. Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia addressed to participants and emphasized the meaning of the meeting.  It has to be mentioned, that currently, it is not possible to protect ecosystem in a proper manner, so park expansion is very important issue, whereas it will facilitate existing eco-system protection in Kazbegi National Park, sustainable tourism development and local population’s socio-economic conditions’ improvement. The presentation had been attended by the employees of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia, Agency of Protected Areas, representatives of Mtsketa-Mtianeti’s regional administration local municipality and Parliament of  Georgia’s members. The meeting had been held by the support of SSPA’s program in Caucasus, Georgia.
