Pasture Management plan had been implemented

Sum up meeting of the project Mitigation and adaptation benefits and dividends for local communities had been held at hotel Radisson Blu Iveria. Deputy Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia Ekaterine Grigalava thanked project organizations for the assistance and emphasized importance of local community.

Project has been implemented since 2013 year in the frame of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It aims Tushetian shepherds living environment’s enhancement and pasture management sustainable practice inculcation. Nearby the territory 2 pilot farms and 2 meteorological stations had been arranged. A unified veterinary service for Tushetian shepherds and service center had been set up too. As a result, improved existed eco-system for shepherds.

Budget of the project is 1,070,000 Euro. The meeting had been attended by the Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Lasha Moistsrapishvili, representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Economics and Sustainable Development of Georgia, international and non-governmental organizations, also local municipality members.
