A new Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Agency of Protected Areas and the National Botanical Garden of Georgia

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Agency of Protected Areas Chairman, Davit Iosebashvili, and the Director of the National Botanical Garden, Irine Danelia.

In the scope of the memorandum, cooperation between the Agency and the botanical garden will strengthen in the context of scientific research, biodiversity study, and raising environmental awareness.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, the Agency will share with the Botanical Garden many years of successful experience in leading the implementation of environmental education activities and visitor programs; The MoU will encourage research on plant species protected on the "Red List" of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

It should be noted that the Agency of Protected Areas has cooperated with the National Botanical Gardens since 2014. Within the framework of the cooperation, a number of important studies and joint eco-educational activities have been carried out to enhance environmental awareness.
