Boundary Demarcation Works Completed in Tana Managed Reserve
Boundary demarcation works have been completed across approximately 10,986 hectares in the Tana Managed Reserve. In connection with this matter, a working meeting was held with interested parties at the Gori Municipality City Hall.
Establishing precise boundaries will enable local residents to register ownership of and manage as they wish those land plots that fell within the park's boundaries as a result of the creation of the protected areas.
During the demarcation process, privately owned land plots, active religious buildings, power transmission line towers, and other infrastructural facilities that are not characteristic of a protected area are separated from the boundaries of the protected areas.
Demarcation works are carried out following the creation of every new protected area or the expansion of an existing one.
The Tana Managed Reserve was established in 2023 in the Gori Municipality of the Shida Kartli region.
