On July 12, 2023, Davit Iosebashvili, the Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas, hosted a delegation from the German Development Bank (KfW), which included Frank Morschel, the manager responsible for Georgia's environmental portfolio. During their visit to Georgia, the KfW delegation held working meetings with representatives from the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF) and the consulting company "GOPA Consulting." The discussions during these meetings centered around a collaborative plan for the development of new protected areas.

It is worth mentioning that in 2022, a grant agreement was signed between the Ministry of Finance of Georgia and the German Development Bank. This agreement will allocate 16.25 million euros for the establishment of protected areas, including the Racha National Park, as well as for the improvement and development of park administrations. Additionally, it will provide financing for socio-economic projects benefiting the local population.
