Organized by the Agency of Protected Areas, an info tour was held for media representatives in the Javakheti Protected Areas.

As part of the tour, participants visited Javakheti National Park, Madatapa and Bugdasheni lakes, and the Tetrobi Managed Reserve. Attendees had the opportunity to learn on-site about the importance of protected areas and observe resident and migratory birds on Javakheti’s lakes.

The media coverage generated from the tour will be broadcast across various media outlets, introducing the broader public to the unique natural environment and tourist opportunities of the Javakheti Protected Areas.

Currently, the seasonal migration of birds is underway in the Javakheti Protected Areas, making birdwatching particularly engaging in the region. The lakes of Javakheti serve as a crucial habitat for both resident and migratory birds, giving the region significant potential for birdwatching tourism.

Organizing the info tour for the media aimed to promote Georgia’s protected areas-including lesser-known destinations-develop ecotourism and birdwatching tourism, and showcase the country's domestic tourism potential.
