Public Discussion of the Draft Forest Management Plan for Mtirala National Park Held
The draft Forest Management Plan was prepared based on forest inventory carried out in Mtirala National Park in 2025. The inventory was conducted at the initiative of the Agency of Protected Areas by GIS and Remote Sensing Consulting Center “Geographiki” LLC.
The data obtained through the forest inventory is important for assessing the current condition of the forest and planning its future management. Based on these data, measures for forest protection and conservation, monitoring, restoration, and other necessary activities will be identified.
The Forest Management Plan is a long-term document that defines the key directions and measures for the protection and management of forest resources within a specific area.
During the public discussion, participants were introduced to the draft Forest Management Plan and its key aspects. Interested parties had the opportunity to present their views and recommendations regarding the draft.
Representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the Agency of Protected Areas, the local municipality, Mtirala National Park Administration, and other interested stakeholders attended the meeting.
