"The case of poaching was revealed by the Natural Resources Specialist Shota Golubiani and Senior Ranger Jaba Arevadze of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park".
The rangers discovered two men carrying loads on horseback in the alpine zone of the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park while on duty, observation-monitoring of deer bellowing.
Despite strong resistance and provocative actions, the rangers were able to halt one of them and take the cargo, which turned out to be deer meat. The seized package was eventually officially handed over to Kharagauli Internal Affairs Department officers. The Agency of Protected Areas extends its heartfelt congratulations to the dedicated rangers for their indispensable commitment to conserving and developing our protected areas.
Each ranger, bravely risking their own life, wholeheartedly fulfills their assigned duty, which encompasses preventing law violations, tackling both natural and negligence-caused fires, biodiversity monitoring, ensuring cleanliness, and diligently assisting visitors within the bounds of their expertise.
