Within the framework of the project “Biodiversity Restoration in the Ajameti Managed Reserve,” a training on climate change was conducted for the staff and rangers of the Ajameti Managed Reserve Administration.

As part of the training program, attention was focused on the key challenges posed by climate change, as well as global and critical issues whose consideration is essential for the conservation of biodiversity and the sustainable use of natural resources.

The Agency of Protected Areas implements a number of important projects aimed at biodiversity restoration. Among them, since 2016, the restoration project of the Imeretian oak, a species listed in Georgia’s Red List, has been successfully underway in the Ajameti Managed Reserve. The project is implemented by the Biological Farming Association “Elkana” with financial support from bp.
